2014 winter in Chicago = shoveling for exercise & speedySTATES review & giveaway

This winter has been so darn cold & so darn snowy, it’s really been insane. So far, 50 + inches of snow has been recorded this winter season in Chicago.  More  snow is expected this weekend.  Why not?

There’s nothing we can do about it, so why complain?  I can’t really embrace it, but I won’t complain either.

Yesterday after shoveling our walk & taking the boys to school, I stopped at my favorite fruit & vegetable store in the midst of the white out conditions.  It was quiet, as nobody else was there.  Whenever I go to this store, I love to stop by the juice counter for a wheat grass shot & a green smoothie.

For me, this is the greatest way to start my day!  I love wheat grass.  There are a gazillion benefits & believe it or not, I do enjoy the taste!  I just dont’ really think that if I had a wheat grass press that I’d use it enough to make it worth while.  Don’t get me wrong, I do think about getting one often.  Do any of you have one?  In the meantime, this is the next best thing, have a treat while I shop for produce!

So, I got a cart load full of produce & made a huge pot of vegetable soup.

While the soup was cooking, I went outside to shovel.  I decided to shovel our parking spots in the street, as we hadn’t done that yet.  My neighbor & I were outside for 1 hours.  We did a pretty good job, but still had a hard time finding the curb, as there was sooo much snow.  Then, it was time to go to the gym & I was already exhausted!  I managed to get in 6 slow miles on the treadmill & also a few planks because I’m taking part in the Move Nourish Believe Blogger Challenge, @FitApproach @LornaJaneActive #sweatpink #mnbchallenge, and, I had to plank!  So, planking is done!  Running is done! Shoveling is done!  I was exhausted in the afternoon & ready for bed at 6:00pm, which is a little earlier than normal for me.  Don’t worry, I didn’t go to bed that early, I just wanted to!

And, I have another awesome giveaway for you from speedySTATES.  They sent me these 2 shirts to try out:

speedySTATES was founded in Fall 2013 by pro-triathlete Randy Arriola.  While traveling throughout the country to various races, he wanted a way to show off his home state.  Friends were jealous, and he found himself selling off his personal collection.

We are obviously a new company, but our goal is complete satisfaction.  If for any reason you aren’t 100% exstatic about your shirt or hoodie purchase, send it back no questions asked.

If you know anything about me, you know I love quality customer service!  SpeedySTATES has great customer service.
