Here’s my Friday 5 for this week.
I picked up my packet (along with 3 other friends) for Sunday’s 9k women’s race. This is the 3rd annual race & I’ve run the past 2. I love this race because it’s a fun distance, an easy course & it’s all women. I’ve told you before how I love the comaraderie at women’s races. However, at present, I just don’t think I’m going to be able to run this race! My blister is absolutely out of control! I wrapped it, as the dr. said. I wore slippers all day because I couldn’t bear to wear shoes. I wanted to run in the a.m., but there was no way, so I walked barefoot on my treadmill just so I could move a little. I’m doing all the right things, but I guess it’ll just take time! It’s frustrating b/c my body is so ready to go, but one darn spot on my foot won’t allow it!
There are so many videos, aps out there, but this is one of my favorites. I’m going to start it again today. You see progress pretty quickly if you really stick with it & it’s truly amazing. I never thought I could do 100 push ups- that’s a ton! But, eventually I can. I’ve repeated this program 3 times from the start & I love it. Since, I can’t run, I’ll be starting this today & since I’m starting, I’ll finish! I like to do this along with other things on my “non-running” days, so today is perfect!
I made this kale soup 2x this week. I ate it daily. It’s amazing! I’ll be sure to give you the recipe soon! I love soup season & it has begun! I could really eat soup every single day. How about you?
I’m quite grateful for my slippers this week! Hoping to transition into regular shoes, but until then, my feet are nice & cozy!
Still reveling in the marathon. Just super happy with everything (except for the darn blister, but that will heal)! Onto the next goal now. Still trying to figure out what that will be……..
