This is a biggie, but I”m going to keep it brief, as my darn blister is really messing with me tonight! Ugg. I’m hooking up with Jenn from Peas & Crayons for a WIAW, as I really did remember to take pictures today believe it or not!
Well, here we go:
Today was a great food day! I had my typical green smoothie for breakfast. Lunch was salad, quinoa & sweet potato zucchini fritters & we had a date night & went out for Japanese. We had a Groupon & we thought we were getting sushi, but it was for Japanese, so we went with the flow. It was fun & delicious, just way too much food. Benji reminded me that I ran a marathon, I can eat a lot of food. I love food, but it was way too much even for me! While we were at dinner, my foot was throbbing. I have been fine & truly feeling great, but something terrible happened! I had to take off my shoe b/c it was killing me where my blister was & the pain from the shoe was too much! So, I walked to the car without a shoe & hobbled home. I got home & took off my bandaid to see the problem. OUCH! The bandaid had pulled off some skin & I now have a huge raw spot where my blister was a couple days ago!
It doesn’t look so bad, but let me tell you- it hurts! Hoping some Neosporin & sleep will heal that baby! I wanted to go for a run in the a.m., but right now, I can’t even put on a darn shoe! Yikes! I think I’ll never wear those gym shoes again! Thank goodness Road Runner Sports has a 90 day trial period! I’ll be visiting them soon!
Ok, on to the good stuff… I had such success with some great products that I want to share with you!
I was sent this Mission anti-chafe glide. I’ve never used it before. The truth is that depending on what I wear, depends where I chafe. Well, I was happy to try this & it WORKS! I used it where I typically chafe during long runs & no chafing at all! What a treat! I will definitely be using this again! It’s worth the extra 30 seconds to apply!
Have you heard of Tommie Copper compression wear? I know I mentioned it yesterday in my post. Well, let me tell you that it’s made of super soft material & doesn’t feel tight like compression socks. This is a very different feel.
Tommie Copper is the originator and creator of copper-infused clothing, representing the next evolution in performance apparel.
Activated copper is at the core of every Tommie Copper garment. By a proprietary and exclusive method, activated copper is permanently infused into all performance yarns, releasing positive ions into the body and providing anti-microbial protection and skin benefits. By combining this with other technologies like compression, Tommie Copper enhances performance, recovery and helps provide relief from aches and pains.
Here are a few copper facts:
- Increases oxygen transport in compression products
- Neutralizes “free radicals”
- Improves muscle tone
- Emits ions
- Has been used in medicine for thousands of years
- Is one of the necessary micro-nutrients found naturally in the body
Tommie Copper’s apparel is designed to be worn all day—even while asleep—for improved performance, recovery and supportive relief from everyday aches and pains.
* I truly do give my Tommie Copper compression apparel credit for my easy marathon recovery!
